**Drop Jaw Here; A Must Not Miss**

(+5 Per Comment)

So Ive found like 5 Jaw Dropping things this week and now I'm putting it all here.

First off comes the book cover of The Haunted, second book after The Hollow, by Jessica Verlay.

Hardcover: 304 pages
Publish Date- August 31, 2010

Unfortunately this is the only line I could find that was related in any way to the book:

"Love and mystery mix in this spine-tingling, hauntingly gorgeous trilogy, which L.J. Smith calls "Spectacular!"

Well, we know the first two things are going to be in the book already (love & mystery) but I guess it's good that L. J. Smith, author of The Vampire Diaries and other series, likes it.

Paperback- 288 pages
Publish Date- July 29, 2010

"Dru Anderson might finally be safe. She’s at the largest Schola on the continent, and beginning to learn what it means to be svetocha–half vampire, half human, and all deadly. If she survives her training, she will be able to take her place in the Order, holding back the vampires and protecting the oblivious normal people.

But a web of lies and betrayals is still closing around her, just when she thinks she can relax a little. Her mentor Christophe is missing, her almost-boyfriend is acting weird, and the bodyguards she’s been assigned seem to know much more than they should. And then there’s the vampire attacks, the strange nightly visits, and the looks everyone keeps giving her. As if she should know something.

Or as if she’s in danger.

Someone high up in the Order is a traitor. They want Dru dead–but first, they want to know what she remembers of the night her mother died. Dru doesn’t want to remember, but it looks like she might have to–especially since once Christophe returns, he’ll be on trial for his life. The only person who can save him is Dru.

The problem is, once she remembers everything, she may not want to…"

I didn't read the summary. But I will after I finish Betrayals, which right now I can say I like it tons better than the first book (Strange Angels). I don't think I like the cover though. Doesn't it look promy to you? The girl and the guy both look good, but I feel like kids are waiting in line in the background to get their pictures taken, and all the while, while they are drunk (I believe the kid on the corner just threw up, can't keep his booze)

As with The Haunted I couldn't find much on Torment. BUT! Do not despair! I did find an interview, which was hosted at Wondrous Reads, in which the author gives a little inside peek.

"Can you tell us anything about Torment, the second book in the series?

I’m having so much fun writing Torment that it’s hard for me not to spill everything right now so I can say, “Aren’t you excited? Won’t this be great?” But my publisher would probably have my head. So in lieu of that, I’ll reveal just three things:

1. As Luce learns more about her past, she comes into a host of powers she never knew she had—and they might involve the shadows.
2. After the second book comes out, a prequel (which will span thousands of years!) will follow before the final book in the series.
3. Even though, of course, Daniel is Luce’s one-and-only, a very interesting new male character is introduced in Torment that offers him some stiff competition."

Again, no idea what it means cause I haven't read the book, but I so want to. The cover of Fallen had me enchanted since the first time I saw it. And this one might be even better! I love the pose, the dress, the Gothic look of it all. Black... White... Exquisite... Elegant yet Hardcore. Yeah, my kind of cover definitely.

Hardcover: 240 pages
Publish Date- June 29, 2010

I have to make an announcement. For those who don't know this yet, this is NOT the fifth Blue Bloods book. I repeat, IT AIN'T. You must think of this book as a companion guide. Keys To The Repository is, and I quote, a Blue Bloods short story collection, which includes character profiles, a dictionary of terms, and lots of fun stuff, like maps.

"Lavish parties. Passionate meetings in the night. Bone-chilling murders. Midterms. The day-to-day life of Schuyler Van Alen and her Blue Bloods friends (and enemies) is never boring. But there's oh-so-much more to know about these beautiful and powerful teens. Below the streets of Manhattan, within the walls of the Repository, exists a wealth of revealing information about the vampire elite that dates back before the Mayflower. In a series of short stories, journal entries, and never-before-seen letters, New York Times bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz gives her hungry fans the keys to the Repository and an even more in-depth look into the secret world of the Blue Bloods.
Won't you come inside?"

I will so buy it. And any person who owns the entire series should definitely do it also. On a more cheery note...

I do have the name of the fifth Blue Bloods Title. GASP! Holly molly Taschima! I know, I know, I was excited too. It's called Misguided Angel and it's publish date is October 5, 2010. A little summary?

"After inheriting the dark Van Alen Legacy, Schuyler fled to Florence--with her forbidden love, Jack. Now the two of them must embark on the mission Schuyler was destined to complete: to find and protect the seven gates that guard earth from Lucifer, lord of the Silverbloods.
As the Blue Blood enclave weakens yet further, fate leads Schuyler closer to a terrifying crossroads--and a choice that will determine the destiny of all vampires."

If you have read the last book, The Van Alen Legacy, then you know this stuff. But, it's still exciting! On a bad note it's Hardcover and only 256 pages. I know, so small =( But maybe it will change (cross your fingers).

I have even more information on the works of Melissa De La Cruz though! She is writing a spin off on The Blue Bloods Series (who isn't writing a spin off these days?). She is working on Wolf Pact, the first book in the Blue Bloods spin off starring Bliss Llewellyn (WOLF PACT? Wolfs? Interesting...); as a side note she is also working on a new adult fantasy series called THE WITCHES OF EAST END.

  14. @AtenRA Hmmm Interesting...

@Kate I like it because it's not part of the series, it's a companion, so it doesn't have to have the little city or any of that stuff, it need to look mysterious while maintaining some sort of connection to the other books, which I, Im my not so humble opinion, believe it pull off with flying colors.

@Dani You would think right? But no, it's 5 if you include Blue Bloods book 5 'Misguided Angels' that for me is a Jaw Dropping piece of information.

  23. I am absolutely in love with cover of The Haunted and Torment. Wonder if you've seen the cover of paperback version of The Hollow? I think it looks so much better than the girl w/ blue background.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I agree. I don't like the cover for Jealousy. It just doesn't fit with the other two covers in the series.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I love all of these covers! I can't wait to read Jealously and I'm definitely going to get Keys to the Repository. I still have to read The Hollow and Fallen, but the covers look amazing!

I haven't read the Hollow yet, but it's already on my TBR list! I think that the Hollow cover was... okay, but I like the Haunted one better!

  31. They are all very nice but the haunted and keys to the repository seem to be a departure from the series look they aren't match-y enough- okay I might be picky.

Torment is better than fallen which I didn't think was possible.

    Seahn

  32. Thanks for the link to my interview! :) I love all these covers!

  34. Torment!!! *wipes drool off of keyboard* That's officially going in my favorite covers folder.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Haunted looks and sounds delicious!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh I love the cover for The Haunted *_* even though it doesn't go very well the The Hollow... the girl on it looks so unreal and distorted :/

The Torment cover is great too. I think I like it even better than Fallen.

The new Melissa De La Cruz book doesn't look aynthing like her other covers but I love it anyway. The eye looks kind of mean and really creepy.

  37. I was seriously grabbing my head and going "OMG, too many things running around in my head like a chicken with its head cut off!"

That seriously WAS an overload of information. I don't even know where to begin. I think my head seriously exploded!

Okay *deep breath* I think I'll begin with 'The Haunted'.

O..M...G...!!! I haven't read The Hollow yet, but I've been dyinggggg. And Jessica sent me a packet with some Hollow stuff in it a while ago and I've just been absolutely dying to read it.
But I don't have a copy. T_T I think The Haunted cover looks just as beautiful as the Hollow.

Glad there is more to the story. :)

    And then on to Jealousy!
Ahhhh, can't wait for it. Though I haven't read Betrayals yet. *Hits head on wall*.

And then to Torment. Yet another sequel to a book I've been dying to read. Please kill me now and send me to a place where you can just say a book's name out loud and have it appear in your hands. Pleaseeee.
    :)
