What The...

Gets all excited. Battles with myspace so it lets her watch the trailer. Gives up. JA! Got ya myspace! Watches the trailer AND... WTF!?!!

Ok, now I'm scared. When the hell Jacob does that in the book? Ill tell ya when, NEVER! The trailer its already screwing the book. I am not happy. No happy dance with this trailer (>"<). I feel like I've been robbed. Why?!!

Why don't they stick with the book? I don't get it. I mean the book is large, but they can go throu it rather fast. Half of the book is Bella whining which really they could cut 99.9% of that, and stick with all the other stuff. I'm afraid that this movie will be rather disappointing.

Sad Panda.

HP and New Moon Madness!!

The time is coming. Yes, what we all been waiting for is almost finally here...
The new Harry Potter movie!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!! See the trailer here!

Isn't it amazing? I am a total HP fan. Been one since I was 12. Don't care what anybody thinks about it, I think it rocks your socks period!

Thinking about it I will be one of those people who will make the line since the break of dawn to watch the movie and be one of the first in line!!!!!!!!!!!! Muahahahahahaha (evil laugh)!!!!

And dear BB if you are reading this, yes to what you are thinking. I am going to make you do the line with me!!!!!!!!! Whether you like it or not!! <(' ' ^) woot woot!

Other than the super duper awesome HP trailer, the New Moon trailer is coming out, you guessed it, tonight! After 7:45 PM PST on Myspace Trailer Park.

Series To Die For...

I, like many others, prefer series to novels. My big reason that I love series ans not novels is that novels are too short, too definite. When you just start getting into it, and start to really love the characters, BAM! It's over, and that just sucks big time >.<...

You know what I also love? Vampires. You may call it a cliche or something of that matter but I can sit down with a vampire book and be gloriously happy. The vampire theme adds sugar, spice, and everything nice that a series needs. And I just LOVE to see the difference between all the vamps in literature, but also the qualities that they share. With this I am going to share with you guys some of my personal favorite adult vampire
series of all times, Ill talk about the YA one's in another post.

Overview:

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.

The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams.

Taschima:
This right here is my favorite series of all times. It has vampires, war, an amazing plot, to die for characters, and romance- gotta love the romance uh? This book is all a first book in a series need to be, it introduces the war, some of the religion, the main characters, and after reading it you get so into it you run to your nearest bookstore begging for the next book in line! In fact, its so good, I got my friend into it... my friend is a guy, and you know how difficult, if not impossible, is to get a guy involve in a romance novel.

Overview:

Sookie Stackhouse is just a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town Luisiana. Until the vampire of her dreams walks into her life-and one of her coworkers checks out...

Maybe having a vampire for a boyfriend isn't such a bright idea.

A fun, fast, funny, and wonderfully intriguing blend of vampire and mystery that's hard to put down, and should not be missed.

Taschima:
And well, I think that last line pretty much says it all ^^, but let me talk a little more about this awesome series. Sookie Stackhouse is not only a small-time cocktail waitress, but she is also a some sort of psychic, she can read people's minds and such. She has never been able to fit in with the other people in her small town, since she knows all the little and not so little secrets of the whole town. She feels uncomfortable at times, and pretty much an outsider, that is until Bill comes in her life.

Vampires in this series have come "out of the coffin". The Japanese people have invented some sort of synthetic blood which lets the vampires roam free and be a part of society. Since vampires are technically dead, Sookie cannot read their minds, that is why she is so fascinated by them, its like being in a room full of noise and then you discover the beauty of silence. This book was originally intended to be a metaphor for the gay movement, which you get right away. Overall amazing, and you should all read it, and please if you are going to read it, read it before you watch True Blood!

Overview:

Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father- the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.

In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't have end up as his dinner- are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now cat will have to choose a side... and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

Taschima:
I'm a newbie to this series, only read the first book, but I just love it. This series has an intense Buffy vibe, and I am a fan of The Slayer. Cat is not your normal 18 year old. Sure she has to deal with the prospect of college and whats not, but other than this she has no friends, and the irony doesn't escape her that her one true friend is one of the ones she considers "bad guys". After a while you, and Cat, start to see that not all vampires all evil, that the world is not black and white, and that the shades of gray are everywhere.

Review: Fade by Lisa McMann (Dream Catcher #2)

Title: Fade
Author: Lisa McMann
Series: Dream Catcher
Book #: two
Pages: 256
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Published: Feb 10, 2009.
Reading Level: YA
Rating:

SOME NIGHTMARES NEVER END.

For Janie and Cabel, real life is getting tougher than the dreams. They're just trying to carve out a little (secret) time together, but no such luck.
Disturbing things are happening at Fieldridge High, yet nobody is talking. When Janie taps into a classmate's violent nightmares, the case finally breaks open -- but nothing goes as planned. Not even close. Janie's in way over her head, and Cabe's shocking behavior has grave consequences for them both.

Worse yet, Janie learns the truth about herself and her ability -- and it's bleak. Seriously, brutally bleak. Not only is her fate as a dream catcher sealed, but what's to come is way darker than she'd feared....

Taschima's POV:

Your Dreams Are Not Your Own... Or at least they aren't when Janie Hannagan is around...

What would you do if you had a gift that is so extraordinary, so powerful that could change lives, but at the same time so dangerous and frightening that you just want to scream? Well Janie responds this questions, and a heck of a lot more. Janie continues her path as a dream catcher, and more than this she is trying something that is so completely new and exciting, that it even frightens her more than the dreams... She is Cabel's girlfriend. Together they embark on a whole new adventure that will be full of danger, confusion, surprise, and romance- cause lets face it, there's always room for some love.

Like Always Lisa McMann takes the cake, and not just a piece, but the whole entire thing! Her form of writing may seen strange at first, well to me at least it seemed strange, but you get into it after a while. The first book was amazing and captivating, and this one does not fall far behind.

I'm giving you fair warning, clear your schedule cause once you've open it you may not want to put it down.

The CW Casts Vampire Diaries

From Dracula to the current obsession with the Twilight series of books and movies, once thing is for sure -- everybody just can't get enough of those sexy vampires! The newest fixation is coming to the CW (possibly this fall) with Vampire Diaries and the major roles have finally been cast....

The show is based on a series of books written by L.J. Smith, and tells the story of a high school girl named Elena who falls in love with the very mysterious Stefan, who happens to be a centuries-old vampire. Stefan and his brother Damon have a tumultuous relationship thanks to another woman who came between them many years ago. Their relationship goes from bad to worse when Elena captures the attention of both men and an epic battle for her heart ensues.

Variety reports that former lost star Ian Somerhalder has snagged the role of Damon. Nina Dobrev (Degrassi: The Next Generation) has been cast to play Elena and Paul Wesley (Everwood) joins the cast as the 200-year-old Stefan. Dawson's Creek mastermind Kevin Williamson will be the executive producer for the series.

Will
Vampire Diaries become the next big show on the CW? Will our fascination with vampires allow us to make room for yet one more primetime series? Tell us what you think....

One thing that has me puzzled is that Elena is supposed to be blond... Will they dye her hair or something? Cause I cannot imagine her any other way, not really.

Wishing On Wednesday

Blood Promise a Vampire Academy Novel
by Richelle Mead

Book Description:

How far will Rose go to keep her promise?

The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir’s Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them. . . including Dimitri.

He’d rather die than be one of them, and now Rose must abandon her best friend, Lissa—the one she has sworn to protect no matter what—and keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago. But with everything at stake, how can she possibly destroy the person she loves most?

About the Author:

Richelle Mead lives in Seattle and is the author of the VAMPIRE ACADEMY series. When not writing, she can be found watching bad movies, inventing recipes, and buying far too many dresses.

Ok, so im guilty, this is totally like Waiting on Wednesday, but since everybody calls it that I'll call mine Wishing on Wednesday ^^. Now Blood Promise is like on top of my "I Wish List". The last one was a total cliff hanger, and I just cannot wait to see what happend to Dimitri, and what Rose is going to do, or even Lissa for that matter. Some things I want from this book is:

- Dimitri not to be a Strogoi, and if he is, I want things to work out!

- For the Moroi to get up from their arses and start defending themselves, I mean they have magic and they don't even use it!

- Third but not last, I want another kick ass battle, my favorite battle has been the one in Frost Bite, and since I don't want to give spoilers away lets just say it was a fight to remember.

Teaser Tuesday

I have read this feature in a lot of blogs, and decided to start doing it here because its kinda fun!! Ok, im reading Fade this week so Ill give you guys a two for one, first a teaser from Wake and then one from Fade ^^.

" The man flicks his cigarette at Cabel.
   Cabel ignites.
Flops around on the ground in flames.
Screaming, like a poor, tortured baby bunny.
And then Cabel transforms. He becomes a monster, and the fire is gone, His fingers grow knives. His body gros like the Hulk.
Janie watches all this from around the corner of the shed. She doesn't want to see it. No more of it. Feeling so sick, so horrible for witnessing it. She turns around abruptly.
Standing behind her, watching her in horror, is Cabel.
The second."
- Wake, pg 79.
And now Fade...

2:17 p.m.
" Janie feels it coming. She sets her book down and glances at Cabel.  It's not him. He gives her a pitying halfsmile when he sees the look on her face, and she tries to smile back. But it's too late.

It hits her, like a bag of rocks to the gut, and she doubles over in her chair, blinded, her mind whirling into Stancey O'Grady's dream. Janie recognizes it- Stacey was in Janie's study hall last semester too, and had this same nightmare a few months ago."
- Fade, pg 43.

I hope you all liked this piece of the story, and I hope your interested enough and give it a try, trust me, its worth it.

Review: Rumors by Ann Godbersen (The Luxe #2)

Author: Anna Gobbersen
Series: A Luxe Novel
Book #: 2
Pages: 423

Reading Level: YA
Book Rating:

Goodreads Rating: 3.85
Published: June 1st, 2008
by HarperCollins

"Outside, the world was quiet and dark. There was a new snow on the ground, but everyone in Gramercy, and up in fifth Avenue, and downtown, where leisure and comfort were not such givens, was inside by now. The New Year had come, but nothing in it seemed even remotely real."

True Love. False Friends. Scandalous Gossip.

Welcome Back To Manhattan, 1899.

Taschima's POV:

After bidding good-bye to New York's brightest star, Elizabeth Holland, rumors continue to fly about her untimely demise.

All eyes are on those closest to the dearly departed: her mischievous sister, Diana, now the family's only hope for redemption; New York's most notorious cad, Henry Schoon-maker, the flame Elizabeth never extinguished; the seductive Penelope Hayes, poised to claim all that her best friend left behind—including Henry; even Elizabeth's scheming former maid, Lina Broud, who discovers that while money matters and breeding counts, gossip is the new currency.

As old friends become rivals, Manhattan's most dazzling socialites find their futures threatened by whispers from the past. In this delicious sequel to The Luxe, nothing is more dangerous than a scandal . . . or more precious than a secret.

And still with all the problems the Hollands are facing, poverty, grieve, and a lot more, there is still a tiny window for what we fellows like to call love.

It is a tantalizing sequel, it made the series even better. All the characters have their own paths, twists and style that you just can't help but love. The way all their stories are bound together is just exquisite, and their stories by separate are wildly interesting. Everyones life is changing, from New York's sweet heart Elizabeth to the Hollands ex-maid's Lina- or Carolina.

At the end you can't help to think about the "What if's?" of the story, and of the possibility of it ending any other way, but then u remember there is a sequel. This book will leave you heart broken, and begging for more. But it, read it, love it.

News for the Damned

Lets start with Richelle Mead's fourth book in the Vampire Academy series. I have new Inf on this subject. The book Blood Promise comes out in August 25 2009. It almost makes u wish for school to start again, almost. Now a little more inf for your eyes...

DIMITRI'S HEART HAS GONE DARK
Now Rose must journey to the ends of the earth to find--and kill--her one true love... Or has the time come to join him?

BOUND BY LOVE, BUT SWORN TO KILL...

The rest of the world had considered Dimitri dead. And to a certain extent, he was. But I hadn't been able to forget a conversation he and I had once had. We'd both agreed that we'd rather be dead—
truly dead—than walk the world as Strigoi. It was time to honor our words.

Guardian Rose Hathaway's life will never be the same.

The recent attack on St. Vladimir's Academy devastated the entire Moroi world. Many are dead. And, for the few victims carried off by Strigoi, their fates are even worse. A rare tattoo now adorns Rose's neck, a mark that says she's killed far too many Strigoi to count. But only one victim matters . . . Dimitri Belikov. Rose must now choose one of two very different paths: honoring her life's vow to protect Lissa—her best friend and the last surviving Dragomir princess—or, dropping out of the Academy to strike out on her own and hunt down the man she loves. She'll have to go to the ends of the earth to find Dimitri and keep the promise he begged her to make. But the question is, when the time comes, will he want to be saved?

Now, with everything at stake—and worlds away from St. Vladimir's and her unguarded, vulnerable, and newly rebellious best friend—can Rose find the strength to destroy Dimitri? Or, will she sacrifice

herself for a chance at eternal love?

I CANNOT wait for this book to be out and about. Moi is a big fan of Vampire Academy and I am hoping, very very much, that Dimitri  is well T_T... Also the preview is coming out in July 25 on her website.

Now with more happy news Charlaine Harris just hit the jackpotMs. Harris, the author of the Sookie Stackhouse vampire mystery romance novels, had just heard that the latest book in the series, “Dead and Gone,” would make its debut on the New York Times hardcover fiction best-seller list this Sunday in the No. 1 spot. Not only that, but for her three-book contract, of which “Dead and Gone” is the second, Ms. Harris was paid a seven-figure advance. She is also publishing A Touch Of Dead-coming out in October- which is a collection of all the Sookie Stackhouse short stories. Bravo Miss. Harris, you deserve it.

And speaking of vampires...

Yesterday I found out that Vampire Diaries is making a debut, as a series in CWTV. The show is based on LJ Smith's book series. Stefan is described as "gloriously, amazingly, epically beautiful young man" who is actually a 200-year-old vampire who has a strong connection with Elena. Not only he has taken a like to Elena, but his evil twin brother- yeah I know what a cliche- Damon has also taken a liking to Elena.

What I don't get is why a 200-year-old vampire is going to high school, willingly. Anyways the show comes out this fall and airs on Thursdays @ 8PM.

PC Cast, authors of the highly acclaimed House Of Night series, just finished the sixth book in the series Tempted. **Edit: Thanks to sushigirl I know that Tempted comes out in October 27thI do know when the fourth book in the Blue Bloods series is coming out -The Van Alen Legacy is coming out in October 6 of this year.

And that's all for today folks, another great year for books, which leaves me with one problem...

--Getting a job so I can buy them all!

Charlotte Allen

Here is my least favorite person of the CENTURY. Ive only read two articles that she has written, and with only these two I conclude that she is closed-minded, doesn't know how to make a point, and is just plain sexist. I was at an Aetheist group called Just for Atheist when I see this post that starts like this: " I can't stand aetheists -- but it's not because they don't believe in God. It's because they're crashing bores". I click at the post, read, and become dumb strucked. Seriously, I know everybody deserves to have their own opinion, but I have to agree with Paikea and say that if the article had started with "I can't stand christians/jews/ whatever you believe in..." this article would have not seen the light of day. I don't know how her articles get published in respected newspapers, it just doesn't make sense.

Here is a link to the absurd article.
And here is the counter by much respected professor PZ Myers.

What do you think about this whole thing? Even if you do believe in something, don't you think this just crossed the line? Would you like your beliefs to be attacked like this on the Los Angeles Times?

Oh and this is not all, not only is she an atheist hater, but apperantly she is also a women hater. She wrote this article about how women are dumb, and how they may even be the inferior sex. I know some women may act a little, am, over emotional I may say, about some things, but to call us dumb? Inferior sex? Charlottle Allen loves to cross the line, in fact, I don't think she even knows where the line starts and ends. It's just a blimp in her radar. Im all for the say "what you belief and don't look back thing" but there is stating what you belief, being just plain mean and prejudice.

The "Women are dumd" article.

Charlotte Allen is the author of "the Human Christ: The Search for the Historical Jesus" and a contibuting editor to the Minding, the Campus website of the Manhattan Institute.

Its been far too long since a series has interested me as much as this series has. I love the characters, Cat and Bones are exquisite. Cynical, dangerous, deadly, my kind of group. The story is a good one, twist and turns, some things u can see coming, but they come in a way that is to good to be dissapointed. Jeaniene Frost knows how to deliver a story with a punch of fun, romance, and most of all she knows how to keep you staking the pages one by one.

The vampire in me was closer to the surface . . .
Evernight Academy: an exclusive boarding school for the most beautiful, dangerous students of all—vampires. Bianca, born to two vampires, has always been told her destiny is to become one of them.
But Bianca fell in love with Lucas—a vampire hunter sworn to destroy her kind. They were torn apart when his true identity was revealed, forcing him to flee the school.
Although they may be separated, Bianca and Lucas will not give each other up. She will risk anything for the chance to see him again, even if it means coming face-to-face with the vampire hunters of Black Cross—or deceiving the powerful vampires of Evernight. Bianca's secrets will force her to live a life of lies.
Yet Bianca isn't the only one keeping secrets. When Evernight is attacked by an evil force that seems to target her, she discovers the truth she thought she knew is only the beginning. . . .
Taschima's POV:

Its a good sequel, not great, but good enough. Its engaging, the whole story I was wondering if she would choose Balthazar instead of Lucas, that would be a twist... and does she choose B? Oh, read and find out. The plot is very creative, and the characters are a blast. All in all I give this book 4 stars. And yes, I'm waiting for the third one eagerly, the ending in this book is a perfect cliffhanger.

In the depths of human desire, eternity awaits...

Beneath the foundation of a mansion in the heart of the Garden District, Alexandra will perform an illegal surgery. Her patient's disfigurement is beyond medical repair. But his body's ability to recuperate from  his wounds borders on the miracolous.

Alexandra knows Michael Cyprien is no ordinary patient. Intrigued by how his remarkable physiology might benefit medical sciense, she is even more compelled by his presence-and the mystery sorrunding him and his associates, a cadre of immortals who call themselves the Darkyn...

In the city of chicago there is this very special doctor named Alexander Keller, a brilliant reconstructive surgeon. While in New Orlean's,  dwelling in the shadows, is Michael Cyprien, a reclusive millionaire that is in desperate need of Alex's skills.

One word comes to mind when I think about this book, raw. The writing, the style, the story, a good raw. I love Doctor Alex, cynic, sarcastic, aetheist, my kind of girl. Michael well, he may be very sensous, but not my kind, he is still a good read though. The debate between religion and science is very interesting, the vampires think of themselves as "cursed" by God, while Alex think of them as a experiment gone wrong. Good start to a new series for me. Eager to read the next one.
