And Yet Another Cover...

I was at the Siren's blog and look what I came upon...

New Vampire Diaries cover! And yes, It has an apple. coincidence?
Or good selling strategy?
I don't know, I don't care, I likes it! It's a pretty cover, as all the other covers are lol

The Vampire Diaries is a YA horror seires novel by L.. Smith about a high
school girl torn between two vampire brothers.

The Vampire Diaries was originally a trilogy. However, pressure from readers led the author to write a fourth volume, Dark Reunion.

After taking a hiatus from writing for several years, L.J.Smith announced in 2008 a new spin-off trilogy entitled The Vampire Diaries: The Return,
continuing the series, with Damon being the main protagonist. The first installment, The Vampire Diaries: The Return: Nightfall, was released on February 10, 2009.

And that just makes me think thank god I did not find this series earlier! Waiting all that time for another book? I would have driven myself to crazy la-la land.

*Sorry for any bad-spelling, my spelling check thingy doesnt work.

  1. See, I didn't know this! Damon's the main character in the spin-off series? YESS. I skimmed some of the books and Damon seems interesting... I read your last post too and yes, vampires are becoming EXTREMELY popular nowadays. Them and faeries. Even zombies (although I don't get what THAT's about...what's so attractive about zombies?)

  2. I am so disappointed with the whole series. First becoming a TELEVISION show?! Come on! Now changing the cover (again), and it just so happens to look like a Twilight knock off? (Don't get me started on Twilight right now.) They should just leave the cover alone and cancel the tv show. Walk away with a little dignity.

  3. Hahaha What I think is that is all about the money. Vampires are in, so everyone wants a piece of the wealth.

The T.V. Show? I think it is going to be a dissapointment, but then again it may surprise even me...

  4. *moans* That COVER. How EMBARRASSING. There are already TOO many black and red cover out there cos of Ms Meyer! Ah, well :)

BTW, does anyone else have a fetish for hunting down editions of the books they read ten years ago from the library that have exactly the same covers? Otherwise it doesn't feel right?? Thank goodness for eBay! I love the original L.J. Smith covers. Hawt, and just corny enought!

  5. I really want to read this series but I want to make my TBR pile a bit smaller before I buy anything else. I think the cover is great, I bet it's a little PR trick to make it look a little like Twilight. Either way I think the covers needed an update to appeal to new readers, the covers were very in the fashion of the 90's(not so weird LOL).

  6. Yeah, beasties are in vogue, but why not? They're so much more interesting than regular people!
And what's NOT attractive about zombies?!? They can be used in so many ways! Zombies are the enemy that won't rest, the virus that can't be cured, the single-minded automaton bent on eating your flesh, the slowly decaying protagonist with a heart of gold, the super-human plague masked as your loved ones and neighbors, the inevitable end with your back against the wall, the result of some unknown genetic anomaly, the comical moaning man in a tattered suit, the ONLY enemy you fight with machetes and baseball bats, the list goes on, but I don't want to sound fanatical so I'll cut myself off here.

  7. I don't really like the new cover, I much prefer the omnibus editions.

  8. I haven't read this series but I read Twilight and the apple has nothing to do with anything. I don't get why it's all over book covers if it has no meaning or connection to that particular novel lol.

It's a good strategy I guess, but I much prefer the cover with the brooding vampire on the front. That one catches my attention a lot more.

  9. Hmmm. I personally like this updated cover. It's not EXACTLY like Twilight. The twilight cover has these pale arms holding an apple and this one is just an bitten apple that's oozing a little. (which duh, refers to blood). Now that I think about it, it's similar to twilight because of the whole "temptation" thing... you know, I'm kind of sick of the twilight mania. So sick of it that I didn't even finish Breaking Dawn. *waits for some rabid fangirl to go crazy psycho on her* ahhhhh...

ideally, the In My Mailbox posts are supposed to be posted on Sunday but it doesn't matter; the whole point is to just do it!

wow@rant by 21. That's definetely a good argument. I've never seen zombies cast in that light. Such fighting spirit! xD ;)

  10. The cover of Twilight does have a meaning, its the forbidden fruit. The fruit that made Adam or eve or whatever fall from grace or something...Temptation.

I love 21's love for Zombies!!
