US VS UK, Round... I don't Even Know Anymore

Hello yet again! Since my dear Tashiba recently went into a coma, I have to post from my roommate's computer, she is grrreat.

I have about a billion posts in my head, but for now I will be posting US VS UK (uuuh a good one) and TT (Teaser Tuesday).

US - UK

I like the US one. I like how we cannot see the face of the girl, I like the ribbon, and I like the cover purple. I also like the font and how dark it is. For those of you who have read it, which one represents the book better? I don't like the UK one because, I don't know, it just doesn't resonate with me as the other one does. It's like it was thrown together hoping for the best.

Now for my TT...

"Hello?"
Silence. Breathing. Murmuring.
"Hello?" I repeated.
Mom appeared at the top of the stairs. "Who is it?" Concern deepened the lines on her face, aging her.
I shrugged at her, shook my head. "Hello?"
She yanked the phone cord out of the wall, breathing fast, suddenly wild-eyed and pale.
Dad raced up the stairs, clearly just as upset. "Another one?"
Mom's fist clenched the cors and she fiercely wrenched me into her arms. What the hell?
"What's going on? I let her hold me as she caught her breath. My dad kept petting my hair. For the last five years, they hadn't touched me except for accidents or unavoidables. Now they didn't seem to want to let go.
"It's started." Dad was the first to step away.
"What's started?" I pushed away as the downstairs phone rang."
Pg.6-7

I can't believe Ive had this book for about a year and now is that I dogged it up from the bottom of my book mountain. It's great, I'm really liking it. Very nice and easy, exactly what I need right now.

The review will be coming up this weekend. By the power of all that is mighty I will finish it.

Now Im off to take a Math quiz, college is fun.

My next post will be about a book catastrophe!! You have GOT to hear this...

Mockingjay Discussion & Poll

So I think we can all pretty much agree on that this month was all about Mockingjay. The great revelation. Who will Katniss choose, Peeta, the gentle guy who would take a beating just to see you smile, or Gale, the fiery guy who will fight to the end for your salvation? Will she help the rebels take control of the Capitol? And if she does, how will she survive? Will the Hunger Games ever really end?

You get my point. So the book was here, and more than a thousand people have already read it. I'm sure most of my followers read it because I know my followers rock, so I ask you this.

What is all you wanted it to be?
Was it what you expected it to be?
Was it something completely out of this world?
Or was it something that shouldn't have been written at all?

I believe we need to discuss Mockingjay to it's extend. I want to read your guys opinion. If you have a review on Mockingjay leave the link in a comment where we can all go and reply and make sense of what just happened.

Personally, I loved the book. Somethings could have been better, but it caught me so completely off guard that I can leave those things pass.

Things that I wish I would have seen in this book:
  • Peeta post demonic stage.
  • Gale at the ending.
  • A little good feeling from Katniss at the end.
  • Haysmith at the ending, even if he is drunk out off his arse.
  • More Romance!!!!!!!!
Just a few things that, for me, the book lacked and could have made better, but just as it is it was a masterpiece.

This leads me to my new poll...

I am conducting an experiment. The subjects are all of you.

I believe it's pretty self explanatory, so begin the discussion, leave your review, and vote on my poll. It will be greatly appreciated since I am currently sitting at my bed going crazy over not knowing how you guys liked the book!!

My review.

Row, Row, Row, your vote.

And what’s worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss’s family, not her friends, not the people of District 12. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins’s groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year.

If you wish to read this book without knowing what happens in the story go and hide under a rock. Turn off your computer. Do not come out into the light.

Right now though? AVOID THIS POST, it is FULL of spoilers.

Taschima:

I bought this book two days ago. Started it today. Finished reading it today.

I guess what I can say is that I was shocked.

I was shocked with the characters. I was shocked with the twists. So many things I didn't expect to happen, but they still did. One some parts I had to go back just to convince myself that that in fact has just occurred...

Prim dying? Why? When she dies, It's painful. Everything Katniss was fighting for was consumed by flames. Her own essence burned the house down. They won. She lost. And it really pisses me off how much she helped, and how much they screwed her over.

I was mad but that the same time impressed on how the decision of Peeta vs Gale boils down to. I always knew who the victor would be, but, it seems just plain wrong how he came into power. This entire series was never a romance, but you kind of expect it anyways right? I wanted a bit of romance. Also how Gale is portrait at the end of things isn't perfect, and borderlines on wrong, I just wanted him to do something else, anything.

At the end of the day though... it was just right.

Katniss was wonderful. I loved her character in the first two books, and she is still my fav in this one. I loved her insanity. I loved her passion, her determination, her recklessness, her naiveté. You expect some things to just be automatic in books, theere are unwritten rules that some authors follow when concerning with their characters, but Collins is just like her character. Completely disregards the rules, and created some of her own.

The whole story felt right. The deaths, the sorrow, the twists and turns. This book has a bittersweet taste to it, one that many will reject, but some will come to understand.

This story was never a romance. It was never going to have a happy ending in the terms we expected it. It exceeded my expectations really. It was powerful, it was epic, it was strong. In some ways it reminded me of The Deathly Hollows. As with the ending of HP, Mockingjay's entered the big leagues and worked its way to the top.

I loved it.

I wonder if they are going to hold true to the story in the movies. I hope so. It sure will be interesting to see how everything unfolds.

**A Call to All Jeaniene Frost Fans + A Love Letter**

Dear NHNs*:
*Night Huntress Novels

I don't know if you remember me, but I remember you. I remember our nights of passion, or rather your nights of passion that I would come to know about by being a literal peeping tom. Oh, they were good. I specifically remember 2/32, what a great ride that was. I know that blind passion isn't love, but it's part of it, and on that part you delivered.

But, I not only remember the good times, I also remember the bad times, the sad times, and the f'up times. Those were all horrible, but you needed them to grow, and therefore for those times of unhappiness I am grateful.

Also, you are looking foxy this days, lost some weight? New makeup? I don't know what you did, or how you did it, but keep it up foxy man. I may have been with others, but none of them were as goo as you, I swear. Not only that, but they didn't make me laugh as hard as you do, an besides laughter what does a girl need?

Bottom line is, you always make me happy, and that is why I write you this love letter. Because, Oh TSOTG, I love you.

-Your Eternal Slave

Taschima Cullen Bones.

PS; I miss you; Come back to me.

PPS: Rawr.

Teaser Tuesday/College Girrrl

"Your mother is a master of the obvious. Most of what she says to you is stuff you already know or stuff you'd have to be an idiot not to see.

Kyle, your room's a mess.
Kyle, you're failing science.
Kyle, you're old enough to have a job.
Kyle, you never bring any books home.
Kyle, at this rate you're not going to get into college.

Either she enjoys pointing out what you already know or she thinks you're an idiot.

"Kyle, that's a full gallon of milk. Hold on so you don't drop it."

She thinks you're an idiot."

How many of you have ever felt like this? I think this is a great passage that will resonate with a lot of teenagers. Plus is funny.

Hello people, I'm back. Sorry for being absent for 2 days but I was a) moving, b) attending my first day at college. IM A FRESHWOMAN!!!! It's great. I live with 4 other girls in an apartment, have my own room, own bathroom, mini fridge and microwave included in the mini kitchen (all of this is inside my room). So I'm having a good time!

Ive had to buy 3 books for now (need like 9 more). About 150 dollars, an this is because I rented them. Let me tell you, these books ain't cheap.

An right now am looking for a job. I will do my very best to finish one book per week, but you gotta understand that is difficult when you have to read so much else.

Love,

CSN Review

I received this item weeks ago but was unable to open it because I was in the moving-out-of-my-house process. Well the time has come and gone to open this baby up, and I did so with joy.

I will start with the pros of the product. I was able to put around 19 series in it, as you can see in the picture above, and that is a HUGE plus since in my old DVD shelf I couldn't put that many (annoyed the hell out of me).

Another plus is aesthetics. It looks so cute and fits right in with my bookshelf. The way it's made on the side it's also a plus. Instead of being just plain it has some openings, so you can see what's going on on the side. I prefer this to being closed up.

Also it would fix very nice in a college dorm or a small room. My room is medium size, and it has a lot of stuff, so this little fixer upper just did wonders.

Now... for the cons...

While it holds a lot of DVD's I am afraid it wiggles. It isn't sturdy enough, when I was putting the DVD's up it was moving from one side to the other, I was afraid it wasn't going to take the heat.

I kind of lost the instructions for putting it together, but even without the instructions it was fairly easy. Only thing is that you had to force some parts in, which is not good because it could have potentially broken and then I would have been left with tons of DVD's on my floor xD

Now for my wish...

I wish it was a bit bigger, a bit wider. But I think I got my money's worth (29.99). Almost all my Series are in here.

Final Verdict: It is a quick fix for a great price.

The Morganville Vampires Showdown (US VS UK #15)

I absolutely love all US ones. I don't know, but the other covers look old. Like they need a makeover, or a fixer upper at Photoshop. And all the black? Not doing anything for me. THOUGH! The best cover for Glass Houses is the third one, which is the UK one -as far as Amazon.co.uk tells me anyways.

My favorite of th US covers are the last two. Colorful yet dark. I also really like Lord of Misrule =D

I started reading this series but stopped on Lord of Misrule, maybe I have to revisit the world of the Morganville Vampires. Has anyways read it?
