Would You Read Me? Don't Judge a Book By It's Cover (6)

Starting fresh on 2012!
Last Year's Book Was...

Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin, #1)

A marvelous and dangerous looking cover. Not pretty, but strong and imposing in a sense. I love it. I think it plays on the "red-riding-hood" story a bit, or that is what I think of when I see this girl in red with a cross bow anyways.

After seeing this cover, how many of you have changed your minds? Would you read it?

On to the next one then!

Let's play another little game shall we? I am going to give you guys a summary of a book that may or may not sound good (you be the judge) but I am not going to give you an image to accompany the book. This way we can find out if you would read it or not even if the image of the book sucks a lot.

In the Community, there is no more pain or war. Implanted computer chips have wiped humanity clean of destructive emotions, and thoughts are replaced by a feed from the Link network.
When Zoe starts to malfunction (or "glitch"), she suddenly begins having her own thoughts, feelings, and identity. Any anomalies must be immediately reported and repaired, but Zoe has a secret so dark it will mean certain deactivation if she is caught: her glitches have given her uncontrollable telekinetic powers.
As Zoe struggles to control her abilities and stay hidden, she meets other glitchers including Max, who can disguise his appearance, and Adrien, who has visions of the future. Both boys introduce Zoe to feelings that are entirely new. Together, this growing band of glitchers must find a way to free themselves from the controlling hands of the Community before they’re caught and deactivated, or worse.
So, now, all you have to do is say if you would read it or not!
(Yes or no will suffice if you don't wanna write a lot)

Next Wednesday I will post a new summary with no image,
I will also post the cover and book information of this week.

PS; If you know the name, image or whatever of this book do not say anything. Don't give any sort of information away please.

PPS; Remember to enter my Good Bye 2011 contest! The Link is on the top, but you can also just click here and it will take you to the post. I have about 40 books to give away, who wants them?!

  1. I probably wouldn't read it. It sounds like a very generic dystopian novel.

  2. Even though I know what the book is, I'm going to say no. It sounds too much like I, Robot to me. I'll probably wait for some reviews to pop up before I even bother reading this one.

  3. At first the answer was no cause the tech stuff just doesn't do it for me, but then it sounded more social than tech (other glitchers) so yah. I'd maybe read it. But this is one of those that I could go both ways so the cover would make the decision for me.

  4. Probably not. It sounds a little generic to me, and I'm starting to get worn out on love triangles, so the hint of that is a bit of a turn-off for me.

But I adore the cover for Grave Mercy! I'm not normally big on the whole girl-in-a-dress cover trend, but I love the crossbow and the look on her face, and she doesn't look totally passive to me.

    Neat idea!

  5. Im not much for sci fi but i think i would,in fact, want to read this book....it seems like it would be a nice mix of conflicted emotions and ideaology....i kind of dig the whole 'do-what-you've-been-taught-is-right-or-survive-and-do-whats-best-for-you' thing...

  6. I was thinking the Grave Mercy book reminded me a bit of Waterfall. I liked that book so I thought I would give GM a try. As for the other book it sounds a bit too robotic for my taste. Are they really human? Could I find a way to relate to them? Unless, I heard good reviews I wouldn't read it.

  7. Seems a pretty interesting book, so I think my answer is yes. (BTW, I'm sensing a love triangle in this book!) Even though I already know what book you are talking about and I think the cover is beautiful. :D

  11. I'll have to catch up on your past posts, but girl with a crossbow - YES I WOULD READ IT :)

As to the new one, I think the summary definitely catches MY interest. I'm curious to see what sort of cover accompanies it.

  12. I love that cover too!

  13. Yes for both, actually. Love the cover of the first and the blurb in the second sounds unlike anything I've ever read.
