Love, is never ending.

Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people’s thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch. Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste…

Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition. He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets. Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she’s thinking—and he’s the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head. She doesn’t know who he really is—or what he is. Damen equal parts light and darkness, and he belongs to an enchanted new world where no one ever dies.

Taschima:

Where to begin...

At first this seemed a lot like Twilight, but with a few details changed like the guy could go out in the sun and didn't have to take out the disco ball with him, and also the girl had a legit reason to move, among other stuff. But as the novel continues it's path, it starts drifting from the Twilight path and it evolves into it's own thing. It get's its identity.

Ever was a chick girl. The popular, cheerleader, pink kind of girl. That is, until the accident. The terrible accident that changed her life forever. Now she hides in hoodies, and plays her Ipod at full just so she can distance herself from the world. But she has a reason for it. It's not that she is emo, oh no, It's just that she is psychic. She can read thoughts, see people's auras, and she doesn't need to hear you to know about you, a single touch can suffice.

Ever keeps getting farther away from her life, drowning in sorrow, and guilt, that is until a mysterious, out of this world guy comes to her high school. And what she doesn't know is that her world will never be the same.

I reeaally liked this book. read it in no time, it's been a while since a book got me this hooked. Specially when it is a new beginning.

The characters were fun, loving, unique. Ever was this quiet but full of hidden life girl, who is drowning in sorrow for her loss. Damen is this too-perfect-to-be-true dude (Edward?) but he has his flaws, that is if you can call them that. Ever's friends are all funny, but I didn't like Haven that much.

The story gets you engaged very quickly. There's mystery after mystery which keeps you guessing and at the edge of your seat. It even surprised me. I did not expect some of the stuff, or ways the characters reacted. Always a good thing.

UGH what can I say?! READ IT! Don't you get sometimes a feeling when you like a book so much that cannot explain it? Put it to words is difficult? That is how I feel about this one.

Read it, then you'll get it.

  8. Haven is psychotic. I don't understand why Ever even has her around! Miles is good though. :) The ONLY thing that pissed me off was how evasive Damen was! I know I mentioned that in my review...it took you forever to finally discover the big secret. Wasn't the part where Ever kicks Drina's ass wonderful? xD

  9. I saw this book yesterday at the bookshop, browsed it for a while, then with a heavy heart put it back in the shelf (I'm too stupid to not bring any money with me!).

Thanks for sharing your review. Now, I'll probably head back to the bookstore to get a copy. Nice blog, btw. :)
