Bookish Question: What about Video Reviews?

So guys, what do you think about video reviews?
Video Reviews: When a person makes a video while talking about a book they have just read. Some like this option, some don't.
Why would it be cool- Well it would be something new to try out certainly. I could rant while making funny faces and hand gestures (you guys never get to see my hand gestures). It can be pretty kick ass.
Why could it potentially suck- Well, you would get to see my morning face, and that, most of the time anyways, is not a pretty sight. Curly hair everywhere and all. Additionally I don't have any video editing skills... I should learn a bit of that.
What do you guys think? I think video reviews could potentially be fun, sometime I shall try one. Someday... maybe. Afraid of the camera? Damn straight. I should get a camera... Anybody here ever done one?

  1. I love video reviews - as long as they aren't too long and rambly. I think it's best to set out what you are going to say before hand. You only need basic video editing. I have iMovie and it's really simple.

Give it a go, you never know unless you try.

  2. I tried it for the first time, and as usual, it is a struggle for me. I prefer written reviews. But I am committed to do at least 2 more for the first 2 books of a series.

  3. I think you should definitely try it. The only worry I would have, is some people might want to read instead of watch, so maybe if you write it up too that might be best.

  4. I like video reviews! It's fun to see the blogger in person since we're so used to reading their voice through text. If you feel up to it, you should definetely give it a try!

  5. I would watch video reviews if they were done well... most of the review vlogs I see are slow and awkward and I feel so awkward for the vlogger that I can't watch... Also, I don't always read blogs at a place where I can turn on a video, so I prefer when bloggers post transcripts along with their vlogs.

  6. I really enjoy reading reviews myself... most of the time I get to go on blogs and check out reviews, I am not anywhere I can listen to a video review. Plus, most of the vlogs I've seen get really lengthy... which can be okay, but I generally won't watch them. It would be different and something fun to try, though!

Read your opinion, I want. Leave a comment, you shall.
