Bookshelf Porn for You and Me.

It may sound wrong, I know, but it's not what you would normally think (even that sounds wrong). This site is filled with pictures of bookshelves everywhere in all kinds and sizes. I first stumbled across this site at First Novels Club and now Im a better human being for it. Past sins will be erased if you look at this site, guaranteed*.

This is what someone said about Bookshelf Porn:
"bookshelfporn.com has dissuaded me completely from buying a kindle. thank you"
Via Twitter.
I thought you guys would appreciate it, I certainly did!

This is how my living room is going to look like (hopefully)

My special book room (can hardly wait!).

And I just thought this was hilarious, and sort of true.

If you want to see more pics click here. Trust me, its worth it ;)

*don't actually believe me, I have no power in the whole sin department lol

PS; comment here and get an extra entry in my Goodbye 2010 contest =]

  2. I hate using this word because it has become the most overused exclamation in the history of the English language, but... AWESOME! I love the READ shelf and the curving shelves. So cool. The message in books is neat too; I wrote the word HOME with books on my shelf last week. It looks really nice, though it's standing up, not flat like the Read More Books one.
    Anyway! Awesome shelves!

  3. Nope, no BEA for me. My greatest booky asperation is to attend the library sale in Feb. All the books you can cram into a paper grocery bag for $5. Not as glamorous as BEA, to be sure, but last year I got some really good titles.

I don't actually know if I have Skype. I know I have a webcam, but... *shrug* I'm leaning toward No on that one, though it would be nice to Skype with my aunt in TX. :) (don't you love invented verbs?)

  7. I went on the site, and saw a view of the New York public library that almost made me cry. I wish my library was like that.

My library system consists of a main library [nowhere near me] and 16 smaller ones dotted around the borough. The library nearest me is about 25ft square, and about a quarter of that is a seperate room for the librarians.

Looking at the bookshelves doesn't make me want a kindle less, it makes me want one more. That way I could keep all my favourite books on the bookshelves and all the rest on the kindle.

  8. I think I'm in love. No, WAIT! I know I'm in love. I've always wanted this whole room filled with books and books and books. Actually I want nothing less than a library.

  11. Another contest entry.

Another good site to look at for book shelves is Tumblr. There are quite a few book blogs on there I follow and I see pretty books all day long.

  12. I'm a bookshelf fetishist, I'll be honest. I redecorate my bookshelf everytime I have a large influx of books, or when the decorations are seasonal (I'm keeping these Christmas ones I have on till beginning of February, I guess)
Pictorial proof in this post of mine: http://queennessie.blogspot.com/2011/01/warning-photopalooza-ahead-need-for.html

  13. Being a fan of chaos and my blog name being Buried in Books, I have to say I loved the very last book shelf entitled Books, books and more books. It's my kind of filing system. I just kind of wander aimlessly through picking things up here and there. Oh, if only I had bookshelves like that!

  17. Oh my gosh, I want them all! I am in love with bookcases/bookshelves and books, of course! I look forward to being able to have my own personal library/reading room in my own house one day.

  18. Honestly, those bookshelves were amazing! Inspiring!! I want them! They made me want to rethink my library that i plan to have...someday. I wanted floor to ceiling bookshelves on all 4 walls, with a little reading corner with a beanbag and lamp, all in a circular towerish room like in Victorian house. But now I just want the floor to ceiling on three and on the fourth the word READ as a bookshelf!! It is amazing! thanks for the pics!

  20. Wow that is some great ways to arrange your books. What an inspiration I really like the first picture I just don't have a wall where I could make the space for it. I wish!
