Bloody Bookaholic's Commandment:

Thou Shall Read Till Thy Eyes Bleed

Wishing on Wednesday (On Wednesday!)

And yet another week has passed and were back at this point. Time is endless. If it were not for us humans, time wouldn't mean anything, it would just, be. Like sunshine, day or night, the glow of the moon. Why is it that we have the need to control everything? And if something is outside of our tiny little box, we get scared, or just eliminate it, cause if it ain't there anymore it never was right?

Anyways after all that babble, what I wanted to say is that yay it's Wednesday yet again! And that means it's time to make a wish!

So, make a wish Harry...

I was marked from birth as belonging to the Goddess Epona--but that didn't make my life easy. Because of my "blessings," I was set apart, worshipped, unable to make real connections with others. Then came the Feeling, and with it a glimpse of my destiny. It led me to the MacCallen castle of legend, deserted since the terrible Fomorian war.

I followed the wordless call to breathe new life into a place long dead, but I didn't realize there were dark remnants of the war lingering in the nearby forest--victims and survivors who remained hidden. Others marked as different, powerful. Feared.

My choice was now twofold. I could keep to the happiness and safety of my newfound home, or I could choose a path that led to something more terrible, more dangerous, more thrilling than anything I'd ever expected.

And in that future I might never be alone again. . .

Worshipped. Set Apart. Unable to connect with others.

Though most girls believe they are different, Elphame knows she is. Odd. Strange. Unique. No one in Partholon has her abilities-- or her connection to their Goddess. And she has a destiny she is about to discover...

A restlessness has infused her, leading her to the other side of her country. There, the remnants of an evil war still linger. Will Ephame be able to redeem both her country and her soul mate, a survivor of the war? The choices she makes now may bring disaster-- or a future in which she may never again be alone.

It kind of sounds a little like The House of Night doesn't it? Then again P.C. Cast has been known for her love of the God's and Goddesses. Still, I am going to read it the minute it hits Borders.

In another news, how many of you know about Lovely Bones being turned into a movie? I do! If you click here you get to watch the trailer!

The little robot from Atonement is the main girl! And the Producer's name is... Peter Jackson! So, I'm fairly sure it's going to be great! I haven't read this book, but after watching this I have no doubt I have to read it before it comes out! It's been released on December 11, 2009.

  9. ELPHAME'S CHOICE is not at all like the HoN books. There is a strong goddess influence, but this series is pure fantasy set in an ancient world I created. I think my HoN fans will enjoy this series, even though it is quite different.
