Cover VS Cover: Forgive My Fins and Lost Voices

I have these two different covers for Lost Voices and Forgive my Fins and both are pretty cool so I wanted to show them to you.

Hardcover, 293 pages
Published May 19th 2010
by Katherine Tegen Books

You know what sucks about these two covers? There's no fins!! So that was a huge let down, but other than that I like the first cover more. Mostly because of the makeup and the pose of the model. I like how the girl is smiling in the second one, but nothing other than that.

Hardcover, 304 pages
Published July 4th 2011 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt

I love BOTH these covers!! It's such a hard choice for me. I mean, the first one looks awesome, and I like how the designer did the fin (See? This one doesn't even have FINS on their title and it still has find on their cover) but the second one looks like the mermaid is out to get you. I don't know, Im torn!! I think I'm going to choose the second one...

What about you? Which cover would you buy? Have you read these books? How were they?

  4. I like the first of both. On the Forgive my Fins cover, I love the blue lips- it just adds to the awesome-ness of being a mermaid. And the first Lost Voices cover looks a bit more prettier than when the mermaid is coming straight towards you. Happy reading!

  6. I agree I like the first 'Forgive My Fins' cover - and I didn't even notice there weren't any fins on the cover! I was too distracted by the make-up (is that the point of the make-up?) Good catch! I've never read these books but now I'm curious!

  9. On Forgive My Fins I like the first one because the colors and her kissing lips play a role in the story.

On Lost Voices I can't decide either! I like the colors on the second one, but the tail/fin on the first one.

  10. I agree with you - I really like the bottom ones because they have actual mermaids in.. but if i had to choose one for the forgive my fins covers I'd choose the second one :)

These sound like fun books :D

  11. @Lucia I know! Both Lost Voices are just so cool looking.

@margaret could be, it could also be that they just dismissed having fins.

@Ellaira Really? O.O Im impressed, I didn't think anybody would choose that one. =]
