Then Nicki barges into his world, brimming with life and energy, and asking questions about Ryan’s depression that no one else has ever been brave enough—or cared enough—to ask.

She was dead. And yet she somehow defied medical precedent to come back seemingly fine—despite the scans that showed significant brain damage. Everyone wants Delaney to be all right, but she knows she’s far from normal. Pulled by strange sensations she can’t control or explain, Delaney finds herself drawn to the dying. Is her altered brain now predicting death, or causing it?
Then Delaney meets Troy Varga, who recently emerged from a coma with similar abilities. At first she’s reassured to find someone who understands the strangeness of her new existence, but Delaney soon discovers that Troy’s motives aren’t quite what she thought. Is their gift a miracle, a freak of nature—or something much more frightening?
For fans of best-sellers like Before I Fall and If I Stay, this is a fascinating and heart-rending story about love and friendship and the fine line between life and death.
The List by Siobhan Vivian
Expected publication: April 2012
It happens every year. A list is posted, and one girl from each grade is chosen as the prettiest, and another is chosen as the ugliest. Nobody knows who makes the list. It almost doesn't matter. The damage is done the minute it goes up.
This is the story of eight girls, freshman to senior, "pretty" and "ugly." And it's also the story of how we see ourselves, and how other people see us, and the tangled connection of the two.
The List may not be paranormal or strange, but I thought it has a good summary so what the hell! The cover for Fracture has been out for a while but I don't remember posting it here so I decided to just do it. Plus it says it's for fans of Before I Fall, written by Lauren Oliver, and I recently read Delirium and loved it so, yeah!
Cinder's cover (another Meyer coming to rock our worlds?) was released recently, and a looker it is! Plus, Cinderella mixed with cyborgs? MUST READ! Wander Dust was a little difficult to find a release date, I looked everywhere and still couldn't find a specific date. But oh well, I love the cover, and I like the summary, hopefully you will too. Finally, Try Not To Breathe... left me breathless when I saw the cover, so pretty. I haven't read The Secret Year yet though so I must read it before this one comes out!

ReplyDeleteI already knew about Fracture & Cinder (I'm SO excited for those two) but the others--especially Jennifer R. Hubbard's book--sound fantastic! :)
ReplyDeleteMost YA covers are soo gorgeous these days... Hopefully they won't disappoint:).
ReplyDeleteFracture is one of my top picks. The others are great too and I love the cover of Try Not to Breath!
ReplyDelete@Aliya Woot!
ReplyDelete@Sandy Don't they?!
@Cinnamon Like Tris and Izzie for example, beautiful cover but everybody tells me the book is horrible T_T
@Alyssa Hey!! I love that cover too! Which is why I made it the first cover, very eye catching ^^
Wow, wow, wow. Awesome picks this week! I hadn't heard of The List before but it sounds great.
ReplyDeleteI've heard of none of these till now! They all sound amazing, I need them asap!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really liked The Secret Year and the love the cover for Try Not to Breathe, so I'm very excited for that. Fracture and The List are two other books I'm looking forward to, but I'm not sure about Cinder. It doesn't exactly sound like something I'd read (probably because it's unlike everything) but I might give it a shot.
ReplyDeleteWander Dust looks and sounds splendid. I'm assuming it's self-pubbed since there's so little info on it, but it really sounds incredible. Out of all of these books, I think I'm now most looking forward to that one. Thanks for sharing these!
This is one awesome WoW!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of the first 3, thank you
Try Not To Breathe sounds so different and amazing. A lot of books have tackled suicide, but I can't think of any that deal with living again. Awesome, awesome pick.
