Real Life
Commonly known as RL around the internet. RL can be such a pain in the butt. Like when you have 20 books you really want to read but just CANT find the time. Or when you are tying to find time to post but suddenly remember that you have to work early the next day or have a terrible AP Bio test. Yeap, that's RL for ya.
Now, Imagine a world where you didn't have to go to work, where you could stay in your house (or wherever you want) all day long and relax. A world where you could read and read and read... That would be awesome right about now.
So yeah, how does RL interrupt your reading time? How do you balance them both? I try, I swear I do, but sometimes is very hard! My schedule is all over the place, and basically the only time I can find to read is at school, but that interferes with my learning, and I take my learning pretty seriously.
So, that's me for the day, what about you?
I can't almost read in the school period. There are so many things to do... and when I have some free time, I waste it and I don't notice.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to end school so I can read for three months!
I totally get you I still haven't had the time to read Silver Borne and I been having it for 1 month now
ReplyDeleteAw, it is tough to balance it all. I sneak in my reading time at lunch and then I force myself to stop all other activity for an hour before I fall asleep. It's still really hard though. But 10 min. here 15 min. there and it adds up to a few hours a day. Totally feel for you on this front.
ReplyDeleteBalance is something I strive for but don't always find. My job (teacher) takes up an enormous amount of time - then there's the kids, house and all the other usual stuff. I try to read for an hour or so before bed though - helps me keep sane.
ReplyDeleteThank God for SUMMER! ~ But then it will soon be over, =(
ReplyDeleteUgh. Real life. I can't get any fun reading done this week because of real life. One word. Finals. Blah!!!!
ReplyDeleteOmg i was think about that too!! I swear Real Life suck sometime!! I swear there are days I get home from work and all I wanna do is sleep I'm so tired and weekends fly by!!
ReplyDeleteI need to find equal time for everything but I need to figure out how to do it!! (darn I swear there is not enough time in a day)
Anyways cool post.
I know exactly what you mean! I've had a lot of RL issues lately. I just finished my spring semester (I'm a non-traditional college student majoring in history and English), thank goodness! That was really eating into my reading time. Plus I was sick the week before last with strep throat and it looks like I'm getting sick again. All that on top of being the mom of two (rowdy) elementary age boys and working and RL really can put a damper on reading. I am hoping that I'll get a lot of reading done this summer since I have four glorious months until fall semester starts...YAY!
ReplyDeleteUgggh RL is such a drag sometimes believ me I know. I work over 40 hours a week and maybe I get a day off. I try to blog at least an hour an night even just to check up on blogs I follow and comment. And I try to post at least three times a week. But ya know RL never goes as planned haha!
ReplyDeleteActually, I've balanced my reading time well with real life. But since finals are around, I feel my compulsive reading habits are kicking in. As in, even though I should be studying, I'm reading. =P
ReplyDeleteI have a difficult, suck-ass job. I reward myself each day with an unspecified amount of time reading in the bathtub. Come hell or high water I'm gonna read.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Natalie. Finals is taking me away from my precious books! But I take my learning seriously too and even though it's REALLY (and I mean REALLYREALLYREALY) hard to put down my book, I do it so I don't flunk out of college, lol. I read almost everyday, whenever I can. Sometimes I'll go to class extra early and while I'm waiting for my teacher to arrive (college professors tend to be late), I'll just sit back at my desk and read. Or when I'm waiting for the bus or even when I'm ON the bus heading home, I read. There are pockets of time and I use every single one @_@
ReplyDeleteOh real life interrupts reading time a lot! I'm out of the house for school in the morning and don't come home until 9pm from work! The only time I really get to read is during my lunch break -- and that's not even time devoted just for reading.
ReplyDeleteI tend to read at night, but that is exactly the reason why these eyebags just never go away.
I love reading, but don't always have the time, but now that it is the summer time, hopefully I will have more time for reading. I have really gotten into reading old favorites...
