This is a compelling and beautifully written novel about first love, first sex, and everything in between. Maddy Fisher has decided to fall in love. And not just any sort of love: can't-eat can't-sleep crazy in love. Rich Ross is after the same thing. He's set his sights high, and he's going to make it happen. The problem is, in life's messy whirlwind of friends and lies and sex and porn, the real thing can be hard to fine. But there's always a first time for everything. . .
Can't wait to read it!!

Annah knows she has a twin sister, but she forgot her long ago. Back when they went to play in the Forest of Hands and Teeth, she and Elias lost her, and after that there was no going back to the village.
Life's been hard, but Elias has taken care of her, and living in the Dark City can help one to forget the horror of the Unconsecrated—if you try hard enough.
But when Elias disappears, Annah's world crumbles. To her, life isn't worth much more than the walking dead who roam the wasted world she lives in. It's not until she meets Catcher that she cares to start living again.
Yet Catcher has secrets. Dark, terrifying secrets that link him to a past she's longed to forget and to a future too deadly to consider.
Annah must decide: Can she continue to live a world covered in the blood of the living?
Or is death the answer to all her problems?

I haven't read that Carrie Ryan series either but I LOVE the new cover. It's pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy ROT & RUIN! It's my first book for the YA market and it's gotten some wonderful support from authors whose books I adore. Here are some of the comments:
ReplyDelete“George Romero meets Catcher in the Rye in this poignant and moving coming of age novel set during zombie times. I welled up at the end...then smiled through my tears when I realized there was going to be a sequel. Bravo, Jonathan Maberry. Can't wait to read more.”
--Nancy Holder, NYT bestselling author of WICKED and POSSESSIONS.
"This is a romping, stomping adventure through California, 14 years after the dead started to rise. And while most zombie novels are all about the braaains, this one has a heart, as well. With the dead prowling all around, 15-year-old Benny Imura learns the bittersweet lessons of life, love, and family in the great Rot & Ruin. Anyone with a pulse will enjoy this novel, and anyone with a brain will find plenty of food for thought inside."
-Michael Northrop, author of Gentlemen
"Thrilling, enticing, and surprisingly touching. ROT & RUIN will grip readers from beginning to end, and make them question who the real monsters are. It had me hooked from page one."
-- Heather Brewer, author of THE CHRONICLES OF VLADIMIR TOD
“Who knew, I'd love a zombie novel? Not me. This is no ordinary zombie novel. Maberry has given it a soul in the form of two brothers who captured my heart from the first page and refused to let go. Despite living in a nightmare, Benny and Tom rise above the horror and give hope that humanity isn't lost.”
-Maria Snyder, NY Times bestselling author of INSIDE OUT and POISON STUDY

I really like the sound of 'The Dark and Hollow Places' by Carrie Ryan. Wish it will be published in Europe pretty soon.
ReplyDeleteI read the first book in The Dark And Hollow Places series called The Forest Of Hands And Teeth and it was amazing! I am off to the store tomorrow to buy The Dead Tossed Waves (the second in the series) and I cannot wait for this one to come out! if you read them, you will not be disappointed.
