CALLIE ANDREWS may not have money or connections or the right clothes, and she may have way too many complications in her love life, what with--
GREGORY
the guy she loves to hate
EVAN
the guy she'd love to forget
CLINT
the guy she'd love to love
and MATT
the guy she really should love
--all vying for her attention.
But she has three fantastic roommates (best friends or her worst nightmare?) and a wholesome California-girl reputation (oops) and brains and beauty and big, big dreams.
Will it be enough to survive freshman year at Harvard?
Freshman year at Harvard--glamorous parties, blossoming friendships, steamy romances, and scandalous secrets. Skip the campus tour and get right to the good stuff: classes are for scoping guys (and their Facebook profiles), not taking notes. The library is for study dates (the medieval history stacks get a lot of action), not studying. And success is a 4.0 GPA... plus getting into the most exclusive parties. How will Callie--a California girl with brains, beauty, and big dreams--and her three roommates survive?
Get admitted to The Ivy, the first book in a provocative new series about the world of the Ivy League.
Taschima:
Callie Andrews doesn't know what's coming. First week at Harvard and already her world is upside down. Evan, her stupid ex boyfriend, left her on the the first week of school. That brke her heart, but she quickly made amends. As she gets to know more her roommates and her neighbors, Callie Andrews gets more sucked into the world of the glamorous, the drama, The Ivy.
This book is so entertaining! Some people have been comparing it to Gossip Girl, and I say they are right but I would say that this book is less Gossipy and more action. It's a great, fast, and fun summer read.
It's just a whirlwind of events. Everything happens very fast and yet everything kind of makes sense. I wouldn't know if Miss Kunze and Miss Onur's portrayal of college is accurate since I am yet to go to College (this year I will be a freshman!) but with everything that Ive heard it sounds about right.
Not only do they portray the party side of college, but they also put emphasis on the hard side of college with the projects and all the papers the girls have to write. Though the papers are more for a magazine than school. Anyways it still shows you that college is definitely not high school in many ways.
The problems of the girls seem real. Factor in today's society and what may happen to Callie on the sequel is completely possible in today's world.
Entertaining and kind of fun. And for the readers out there who take everything that is in a book too seriously? Well, don't and remember, it's just fiction. The book shows you these circumstances, and it shows you how they are bad and how they could potentially destroy you, so I don't believe the author is preaching a bad behavior. I really liked it; it entertained me endlessly and I can't wait for the sequel.
Every book is different and enjoyable in it's own way. This book is like that pop song you can't help but like, or that t.v. show you can't help but love. It's a dirty little secret. It's my dirty little secret.
Wow! Fabulous review girl! I really can't wait to read this one, especially knowing how much you liked it. :D

Hmmm... I tried reading the first Gossip Girl book but couldn't stand it so I had to return it to the library. But this sounds like something I WOULDN'T give up on, lol. Awesome review, Taschima :D
