The entire school's talking about the gorgeous new math teacher, Mr. Beck. Everyone except Kaylee Cavanaugh. After all, Kaylee's no ordinary high-school junior. She's a banshee—she screams when someone dies.
But the next scream might be for Kaylee.

Yeah—it's a shock to her, too. So to distract herself, Kaylee's going to save every girl in school. Because that hot new teacher is really an incubus who feeds on the desire of unsuspecting students. The only girls immune to his lure are Kaylee and Sabine, her boyfriend's needy ex-girlfriend. Now the unlikely allies have to get rid of Mr. Beck…before he discovers they aren't quite human, either.

But Kaylee's borrowed lifeline is nearing its end. And those who care about her will do anything to save her life.

Anything.

Taschima's POV:

Can this series GET any better? All the past books, they were solid 4 stars. Rachel Vincent, much like her main character Kaylee, doesn't back down from a fight and she isn't afraid of dealing with the tough issues while walking the line between black and white. I love her for it. No one could have written it any better.

All I have to say is that this book is a solid 5 star. If I Die is by far the best in the Soul Screamer series, for various reasons. One, Kaylee doesn't get to live forever. Even though she damn well deserves it, she is forced to deal with her expiration date a lot sooner than we thought it was going to be necessary. It is very interesting, not to mention fun as hell, to see a free Kaylee, not bound by social rules or expectations. Second reason this book kicked ass: The relationships. I don't want to give anything away, but the romantic relationships in this book get very complicated. Kaylee realises some things about Tod (about time really), and then has to make a decision between brothers. But I don't wanna give anything away, so read the book. Third reason this book was so awesome, Tod. I love him, like you have no idea. He is, wow. Since the very first book I was always team Tod. I think Nash is kind of an ass, and a boring ass at that. But Tod? Is major leagues. Another thing I loved? The outcome of the book, the ending, took me by surprise. My speculations weren't far off, but it still took me by surprise.

This book was just what the series needed to make me a faithful and loyal fan. Before it was fine, but now? It's mind blowingly good. I cannot wait for the next book in the series, Before I Wake. Can I have it now? Pretty please? I have to know what happens next!

PS; Who cares about Kaylee's boring powers anymore? SHE KICKS ASS! She doesn't need any awesome powers, because she can manage to capture your attention all on her own.
