The fourth book in this electrifying vampire series has all the romance, suspense, and page-turning drama that have made Claudia Gray’s Evernight books runaway successes.
Having become what they feared most, Bianca and Lucas face a terrifying new reality. They must return to Evernight Academy, Lucas as a vampire and Bianca as a wraith. But Lucas is haunted by demons, both personal and supernatural. Bianca must help him fight the evil inside him, combat the forces determined to drive them apart—and find the power to claim her destiny at last.
Readers have fallen in love with Bianca and Lucas, and they will be thrilled to read this exciting conclusion to their romantic adventure.
Taschima's POV:
By the time I read this book I had forgotten what had happen on the rest of the series. So it took me a while to re instate myself into this world, but it was worth it. I think that this might be my favorite book in the series, it was a good conclusion and it kept me entertained. The Evernight series doesn't inspire passion within me like the Vampire Academy series does but nonetheless is very worth your time.
As you must know by now Bianca was turned into a wraith while Lucas was turned into a vampire (nice touch Claudia), thus making them their worst nightmare. Now they both must learn to cope with their new undead lives and with Lucas's new blood hunger (which apparently is out of the park). In order to do so however they must return to the only place that might be able to help Lucas, and the only place where Bianca is less than safe, Evernight Academy. Will Lucas ever really control the hunger? Will Bianca be able to uncover the secrets that lie beneath the surface? And most importantly will they be able to survive their afterlife?
It was a good conclusion to a good series. I read it in about 2 days. When I first read that Bianca was turned into a ghost I thought that that was the worst thing that could have happened to the story line, I hated that she became a ghost, she was supposed to become a vampire and then turn Lucas and live happily ever after right? Wrong. At the end she turned into a ghost and Lucas into a vampire. He hates himself, and Bianca is scared of wraiths, and the bad luck just keeps on coming. However, even though t first I was against this story line at the end I learned to embrace it. Bianca is a super ghost with kick ass powers, and she can turn corporeal so that helps with my whole embracing the story line thing. And everything was believable in the sense that Lucas didn't automatically embrace being a vampire (that would have pissed me off to no belief).
I really enjoyed all the emotion in this book. It manages to be a romance without being overpowering, and it has great side characters to boot. For me it went fast but at the same time the story line took its times. It was just all well balanced. Afterlife, I give you an A.
