The first thing that came to my mind when I read the news was "what the hell is Winter's Bone?", after that I went looking for information and found the actress. After that I Googled her images and instantly thought "too pretty". She is too pretty! She is blond! CAN SEE PULL IT OFF? Has anybody watched Winter's Bone? Is she a good actress? Can she be a rebel? Can she be brunette? I DON'T KNOW! I will have to rent the freaking movie just to see if she is good, and if not to cry for the future death of my Katniss.
So I guess for now it is a rumor, but it WAS published in a Hollywood magazine, so I don't know. Wasn't she casted as the new Mystique for the X Men movie? I thought as much.
What do you think? Yay or nay? Scream if you must, god knows I did.
Also, WHERE IS PEETA?!
I don't know if she's a good actress I've never seen any of her movies (I don't think I have at least) but she was nominated as Best Actress for the Academy Awards for her role in Winter's Bone so I think that's something even though she didn't win. Besides hair can be tied so I think as long she can act we'll be OK :)
ReplyDeleteUrmmm just No. First of we need to see if she even looks good as a brunette and then need to figure out if the girl can even act, because if she has not read the series. Then she possibly is not aware of the challenging role ahead of her. Gah what is wrong with these people casting can they do nothing right?!
ReplyDeleteHi, yes I've read this article this morning too. from Us Magazine. I've seen Winter's Bone, she is also that chick in the red carpet for Oscar's that wore that awesome red CK red dress... anyway, and she is a competent actress, but I am not sure if she is Katniss material. I have so much faith that the person who is going to play that role has to do a very good job, or else... disappointment, you know?

She was excellent in Winter's Bone. Although she wasn't on my radar for Katniss, I'm glad they chose somebody with her acting ability.
ReplyDeleteWinter's Bone is an awesome book I loved it so much. I was hoping the movie adaption would be good and was not disappointed. She was wonderful in it and even nominated for an Oscar so I think she will do a great job.

ReplyDeleteOMG THIS IS SO EXCITING!! She is an amazing actress, yes. And she looks the part, we just need to dye her hair. She has the grit and serious acting chops to really pull this off. The only other choice I think would've been equal to this would've been Hailee Steinfeld, but she's a bit too young (though she still probably could've pulled it off).

It's going to take one hell of a Peeta to match her. And a Gale with a grit all his own. Should be interesting to see!

I wouldn't be too down on her if you haven't seen Winter's Bone. It was such a gritty movie and she played the part so well. I think you'll be surprised by her and her acting abilities.

While Jennifer's performance in it was terrific, Winter's Bone was a horrible movie. It was like watching paint dry. I truly do not know why it was nominated for an OSCAR. I heard the book was much better (of course)!

I just read about it on eonline.com, so I guess its true. I'm not sure if she fits Katniss to me, I guess the only way we can judge her is by seeing the movie.
ReplyDeleteHm I also read they wanted a fresh face, she isn't really fresh anymore, since she did Winter's Bones, I guess I should see that when its on DVD, to judge her acting, but I remember the trailer, I think she is a good actor from what I saw in those 2 minutes, but never know, she could suck and ruin our dreams for the movie!!
Also, they haven't picked Peeta yet, a lot of guys in the running.
Keep your fingers crossed that they don't ruin it!!!
She is absolutely right for this. Seriously, don't worry about the look. Winter's Bone was a similar kind of character--the girl who had to grow up fast and risks everything to take care of her family. She is PERFECT.

ReplyDeleteI don't like her. I don't know why they cast her, maybe because she just got an Oscar nomination but still, just because she's a good actress doesn't mean she can be a good Katniss. I'm sad and dissapointed. She's too curvy, too pretty, too blonde, too fair. Plus she's 20, by the time they finish the last movie she'll be at least 24-25, she'll look too old. Why didn't they pick an unknown actress? I guess in La-la-land everything is about influence and looks. I lost a lot of my interest in the movie
