Review: A Touch of Dead by Charlaine Harris

Title: A Touch of Dead
Series: Sookie Stackhouse
Book #: Extra
Author: Charlaine Harris
Pages: 192
Publisher: Ace
Reading Level: Adult
Rating: .5

Every Sookie Stackhouse short story ever written-in one special volume-from the New York Times bestselling author.

New York Times bestselling author Charlaine Harris has re-imagined the supernatural world with her "spunky" (Tampa Tribune) Southern Vampire novels starring telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse. Now, for the first time, here is every Sookie Stackhouse short story ever written-together in one volume.

Stories include "Fairy Dust," "One Word Answer," "Dracula Night," "Lucky," and "Giftwrap."

Taschima's POV:

There are 5 short stories in this book. Some of them good and worth the read, other were just there to fill the gap. I prefer to read an entire book by Charlaine Harris than the short stories. Short stories aren't her strong point, something she knows. But the stories did fill some gaps that were missing on the original Sookie books. Like for example when they told Sookie how her cousin died.

I had a problem with one story, the last one. I liked the story, till the end. The end I didn't like, and I can't believe she won't ever know. It kind of bothers me. But oh well, this is a good book to pass the time till the 10th book comes out. If you started reading the Sookie Stackhouse series you might want to buy this and read it as you go along. And if you are a fan, like moi, just buy it and read it entirely.

Favorite from least to best:

5. Fairy Dust
4. Lucky
3. Dracula Night
2. Giftwrap
1. One Word Answer

  1. I'm not a very big fan of short stories, they just don't last long enough.

  4. I am glad to know that I am not the only person who had a problem with the last story! I thought the ending was just too over-the-top!

  5. I've only read the first 2 Sookie books, but I've got the 3rd one on my shelf and I need to go ahead and read it--I've had it forever.

I find the series kind of confusing at times, with so many different characters and creatures, but I definitely enjoy them none-the-less.
