No Info till next Wednesday
Generations ago, a genetic experiment gone wrong—the Reduction—decimated humanity, giving rise to a Luddite nobility who outlawed most technology.
Eighteen-year-old Luddite Elliot North has always known her place in this caste system. Four years ago Elliot refused to run away with her childhood sweetheart, the servant Kai, choosing duty to her family’s estate over love. But now the world has changed: a new class of Post-Reductionists is jumpstarting the wheel of progress and threatening Luddite control; Elliot’s estate is floundering; and she’s forced to rent land to the mysterious Cloud Fleet, a group of shipbuilders that includes renowned explorer Captain Malakai Wentforth—an almost unrecognizable Kai. And while Elliott wonders if this could be their second chance, Kai seems determined to show Elliot exactly what she gave up when she abandoned him.
But Elliot soon discovers her childhood friend carries a secret—-one that could change the society in which they live…or bring it to its knees. And again, she’s faced with a choice: cling to what she’s been raised to believe, or cast her lot with the only boy she’s ever loved, even if she has lost him forever.
So, now, all you have to do is say if you would read it or not!
(Yes or no will suffice if you don't wanna write a lot)
Next Wednesday I will post a new summary with no image,
I will also post the cover and book information of this week.
PS; If you know the name, image or whatever of this book do not say anything. Don't give any sort of information away please.
I thinks it sounds pretty good. I would read it!
ReplyDeleteYES :D
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI would consider reading it, definitely. I'm not sure if it's my type of book, though.
Sounds very interesting. I would read it.
ReplyDeleteYes, maybe. but i'd have to be in the mood for it.
ReplyDeleteNope, sounds like a steampunk and I dislike steampunk.
ReplyDeleteFor sure, sounds like my kinda book
ReplyDeleteNo. It sounds really interesting, but not something that I am in the mood to read right now. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI am impressed, I thought everybody would say yes xD Good for you guys, keep it coming!
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting. The cover, though, would tell me if it is YA or romance.
ReplyDeleteProbably not, at least not right now. I like the sounds of the 18-year-old protag and the childhood friend with the secret. From the synopsis I reckon it (should be, at least) is +400 pp. long...
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Cannot wait to see what the cover is.
No, not really. Doesn't sound like my cup of tea. But I am curious to see the cover though. :)
ReplyDeleteI would most probably read it, it sounds intriguing.
ReplyDeleteYES!
ReplyDeleteThe whole romance bit of it seems good, but the world seems a bit complicated. I would first look at its goodreads reviews, see the cover, THEN make up my mind.
ReplyDeleteBut I would try to look up those, since it DOES seem intriguing.
If it was a NetGalley, the cover would probably make me decide, or if I had heard bloggers talk about it before.
So basically... summary not good enough on its own.
oh, also depends on the author.
ReplyDeleteIf its someone I know and have loved before, I'd read it, without another thought.
If its someone new, then the rest of that stuff in my previous comment.
Hmmm...sounds a lot like a bunch of other books coming out now (Divergent really sticks in my head). I would probably read it if I didn't have anything else on my list at the time.
ReplyDeleteI would read it, but only because I am a sucker for future distopia books :) Interesting idea :)
ReplyDeleteI've read this summary somewhere... but I have no idea where. I'd say yes, why not? I like caste system steampunky things.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't sound spectacular to me, but I would read it because it sounds like a futuristic version of Persuasion, which is kind of awesome.
ReplyDeleteI do want to read this book! I actually have it on my Goodreads to-read list =)
ReplyDelete@Ricki It's YA ^^
ReplyDelete@Krazzyme I like your enthusiasm.
@BookChick you know your literature, it is kind of a re telling of Persuasion xD
@ChicklitGirl thats why I also didn't put any author names because I know that if you put a book in front of me with the names Richelle Mead or Julie Kagawa I'll read them no matter what xD
@Nicole O.O
@Kari then you know the cover O.o But yeah it does sound interesting, I have it on my wish list as well ^^
Hmm, it sounds a little like Jane Austen's Persuasion.. but I like that so hellz yeah I'd read this!
ReplyDeleteSounds quite good. Would add it to my list - not at the top but it would get read eventually. Intrigued to what it actually is now. :D
ReplyDeleteWAIT A MINUTE. I KNOW THAT BOOK.
ReplyDeleteBut no worries, I won't tell. Rereading the summary made me realize that I've been waiting for this book for a while now, LOL. I just didn't know all the details until now.... very tricky, Taschima. Very tricky. o.o
Interesting game. Initially the description caught my eye but by the end I lost interest. Funny though I had to go look up the book and the cover may just have tipped me towards reading it :)
ReplyDeleteYes, i would read it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea - I think that I'm a lot less cover-judgey now I mostly read ebooks but I'm curious to find out if that's true or if I'm dilluding myself! It's a yes to this book from me, definitely!
ReplyDeleteno, probably not.
