Pages: 340
Reading Level: YA
Book Rating: Photobucket.5

After discovering that vampires populate her town, college student Claire Danvers knows that the undead just want to live their lives. But someone else wants them to get ready to rumble.

There's a new extreme sport getting picked up on the Internet: bare—knuckle fights pitting captured vampires against each other—or humans. Tracking the remote signal leads Claire—accompanied by her friends and frenemies—to discover that what started as an online brawl will soon threaten everyone in Morganville...

Taschima's POV:

Vampires go missing, a new gym is open in town, Shane goes insane, Claire has huge decisions to make concerning her future, Eve and Michael are as cute as ever, there's some new vampires in town, and Myrnin is as crazy as you can expect, it's pretty much the same recipe with different ingredients. But isn't that why we love Morganville? Same characters, whole lot of new interesting mess!

Reading it as someone who is just going through the books years or months after they have been published I think it's a nice addition to the story that gives us some closure when it comes to certain characters and opens the doors for possibilities, but if I was a fan of the series and was eagerly waiting months for this installment? I would have been a little disappointed because it is just another add to the series without huge consequences.

I think fans of Shane will especially love this installment in the Morganville series, because it focuses mostly on Shane and his messed up mind (we even get to read more than a bit of the story from his POV). What this book did for me though, being no fan of Shane, was make me even more frustrated with the character! I understand that he has a past and all, but really he seemed to improve in the previous books and this one set him 10 steps behind. All I can say is if I were Claire I would be slapping some sense into Shane cause he really needs it.

As always we get some healthy dose of Myrnin! I love Myrnin, he is so crazy but such a good character. What I am really happy about this book is that Myrnin has a huge role by the end... my lips are sealed, but he is a big deal. Team Myrnin all the way! I wonder how long it will take for the author to make light of the love triangle cooking up between Myrnin, Claire and Shane for reals... I have Last Breath on my hands so hopefully it will be soon enough!

There are also other interesting developments in Bite Club, like the weird ass relationship between Amelie and Oliver, and Claire who is always fun to read about, but overall what I think made this book a 3 star instead of a 4 was Shane's POV (we get to be inside his head! *barf*). Entertaining as always, but still missing that spark that Carpe Corpus had. On to Last Breath!

PS; We get to see Myrnin drive a car again! This scene is definitely one of my favorites from the book, hilarious dialogue!
