"She's no angel..."
Poor Dru Anderson. Her parents are long gone, her best friend is a werewolf, and she’s just learned that the blood flowing through her veins isn’t entirely human. (So what else is new?)
Now Dru is stuck at a secret New England School for other teens like her, and there’s a big problem— she’s the only girl in the place. A school full of cute boys wouldn’t be so bad, but Dru’s killer instinct says that one of them wants her dead. And with all eyes on her, discovering a traitor within the Order could mean a lot more than social suicide. . .
Can Dru survive long enough to find out who has betrayed her trust—and maybe even her heart?
Taschima:
This book was more than a book really. Sure it had the story line, the characters, and the plot. But more than that, it has emotion. It makes you feel, and things that would normally would feel wrong felt right. This book has a heart.
Dru Anderson is in deep sh!t. Half Vampire, Half human, 100% completely lost. And if that wouldn't screw your mind then how about killing your own zombified father? It is no piece of cake.
Now what you could call her best friend has turned into a werewolf, something that she knows is a little her fault. And they both have been dragged to a Schola full of strange werewolves and Dhampires, a place were danger is on every corner, and you are never safe. Because in the Schola there is a traitor, a person who wants Dru's head on a silver platter.
This is too much for a teenage girl, add the whole double puberty in her everyday life, and her confusion between two boys, and that alone would make any girl crazy.
I loved this book. It was awesome. Plot always kept you guessing, questions kept popping up and down, and the tension was intense.
In this book we get to see the other side of Dru Anderson, the vulnerable side. She is lost, she killed her father (zombie, true, but still) and now she has to deal with another part of her she never even knew existed. They show Dru as being very confused and confined in herself during the novel. Something that would have normally bothered me seemed like the complete obvious route to take. See this change in the character makes her real. She suffers, HER FATHER DIED, it's natural she feels like this! it's what makes the book have a heart.
But not everything is depressing, we also have the heart stopping moments, both romantic and dangerous. There is danger everywhere, and I still don't know who the traitor is, though I have an idea. With the romance part... Well, I am torn. But I think I am leaning on Grave's side of the love triangle a little bit more than Christophe's...
Why, oh why, did you gave this book a 4? Well, it was kind of confusing at times. I had to go back and re read things because I either didn't know who was talking, or what was happening. Also I wanted more. Too short! Make these books bigger!! And it concentrated in only one place for too much time.
That's what I felt, and I cannot wait to read Jealousy.
First book was ok, this one was great, and I am betting Jealousy is getting a solid 5.

Great review! I have this book sitting on my desk waiting to be read.
One of my favorite series these days. I love me a good, strong female ass kicking character. Dru doesn't disappoint. This is a series with balls, and, frankly, I'm a fan of balls.
I cannot wait to see what happens in Jealousy! :)
I liked this book to =) and I also wanted more! Can't wait for jealousy =)
I desperately need to get my hands on these books. Sometimes I really despise our library system. How do they only have one copy of such popular books? ACK!
Great review as always by the way!
Have you seen the cover for the newest one of these? It's GORGEOUS. I think it's called Jealousy. :)
Strange Angels was the the second YA book that I've ever read. I loved it a lot. (BTW Kelley Armstrong's book was the first). I also read Betrayals. It's great. I'm looking forward to Jealousy very much. I think there's more coming too.
I have this one waiting patiently on my shelves to read, I think I need to pick it up, so I can be ready for the next one, great review!
Thank you for the fine review. I'll have to give her work a look!
I'm reading the first Strange Angels, now
I'm glad to hear that this is better than the first because I thought it was just okay too. Now I'm ready to read this one. Thanks for the review!
I enjoyed this book. But I don't like the cover for book 3 - Jealousy
I LOVED this book too! It was better than book 1 and I'm sure hoping that Jealousy is going to top it, hehe ... though I'm not keen on Jealousy's cover, either. There's something odd about it, lol. I haven't decided what, yet.
My favorite part in Betrayals ... THE HUG!!! (",)
I'm definitely leaning towards Christophe ... mmm ... as much as I like Graves, he's just not taking any initiative already! No wonder Dru didn't think he was into her in that way.
I've been hearing such great things about this book. I love books that are able to evoke emotion, and this one definitely sounds like something I would like. Great review!
I've read this a month ago. It's a great book, even though I had to stop a few times, cause it got boring sometimes. It's an awesome book though. I liked the covers, and I can't wait for Jealousy!
I liked it but was a little meh and I can't pin point why.
I enjoyed the review your review and agree with some things.
Seahn
I didn't quite enjoy Strange Angels. So never got around to read Betrayals :(
I loved, loved, loved, loved, (did I say loved?) Strange Angels. I've been wanting to read Betrayals since I finished SA.
I tried getting my friend to read Strange Angels and she couldn't get into it. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!
But anyway, very lovely review. I really love your point of views on the books. :) I see we have lots of books in common.
Great review! I'm still not sure if this book is my style or not...
