Review: Lenore: Noogies by Roman Dirge

Title: Lenore: Noogies
Series: Lenore
Book #: 1
Author: Roman Dirge
Pages: 128
Publisher: Titan Books
Rating:

Take a trip into the dark, surreal world of a little dead girl with a knack for (often) unintentional mayhem in this remastered, Gothic classic, newly-coloured and presented in glorious hardcover!

Lenore might only be small, but her talent for mischief — and occasional wanton destruction — is anything but. Featuring stories about limbless cannibals, clock monsters, cursed vampire dolls, taxidermied friends, an obsessed would-be lover and more fuzzy animal mutilations than should be legal, never has the term ‘something for everyone’ seemed more sinister and bizarre.

A massive cult hit on both sides of the Atlantic, Lenore is one of the funniest, darkest, cutest, creepiest characters on the marketplace today.

Taschima:

This book is a recollection of different Lenore stories. All of them are very creepy, extremely dark, and totally fantastic. Funny to the tenth potential. You just gotta love Lenore, the cute little dead girl.

The people who like Tim Burton and/or Emily The Strange will adore Lenore. Also, the drawings. It's so cool! And the color only makes it look better. And it is not only Lenore, but the story has more characters like the guy who is totally infatuated with Lenore, Mr. Gosh, Mr. Kitty, vampire teddy bears, etc.

All I really gotta say it buy it now! ^^

US VS UK, Round Four...

Another round of US VS UK! This is the fourth, if I'm not mistaken. If you want to see the other rounds, just click on the number and it will take you to the post: one, two, or three. I found some good ones so, pay attention and give the verdict!

US - UK

I gotta give this round to the US. I like everything about the cover of the US, UK not so much. The US cover let's you know a little of what's going, or whats going to happen in the novel, while the UK one only has some sexy girl in the front. I don't even like the font of the UK. So sorry, but US it is!

US - UK

While the cover of the UK is very cool and vampire like, I can't help but smile every time I see one of the drawings on the cover of a Charlaine Harris book. So this one, for me, is a US win. Every time I know one of Charlaine's books are coming out I can't wait to see the drawing in the front. It shows character. The UK cover seems too, generic. In fact, the woman in the cover could as well be Eric's vampire friend Pam.

US - UK

Do I even have to say it? Or can you guys guess by now? US win. The UK cover lacks imagination. And the US cover has the drawing. And the drawing for me always wins.

So, the US kicked arse today. 3 out of 3.
Something bless America.

PS; No school tomorrow, freaking SWEET!

Review: I Can't Keep My Own Secrets: Six-Word Memoirs by Teens Famous & Obscure

Title: I Can't Keep My Own Secrets: Six-Word Memoirs by Teens Famous & Obscure
Series: Six-Word Memoirs
Book #: 2
Author: Larry Smith & Rachel Fershleiser
Pages: 184
Publisher: HarperTeen
Tags: Memoirs
Rating: .5

"One life. Six words. What's yours?"

True tales of love, loss, good friends, and bad hair days filled Not Quite What I Was Planning, the New York Times bestselling first book in the Six-Word Memoir series—and an international phenomenon. Some of the most compelling were by teens, so now SMITH Magazine has compiled a book written entirely by these bold, brash truth-tellers. From cancer to creativity, prom dates to promiscuity, and breaking hearts to breaking laws, the memoirs in this collection reveal that often the youngest writers have the most fascinating stories to tell.

Taschima's POV:

600 stories. 600 different people. Only 6 words.

This book, though very short and easy to finish off, is so right. At first I found it funny, because some of them are funny, but most of them aren't. You can relate to so many different people. I know I did. Everyone has a different way of thinking, everyone is different, special. Problems with love, family, and even oneself's are presented here. It's breath taking, not for it's beauty, but for the truthfulness behind it. People are really opening themselves and putting themselves out there. I really liked it, and I think if you give it a shot, you'll like it too.

Some of the sentences I could relate to, or just liked:

Tired of waiting to be older.

Allergic to reality; compelled by fiction.

A time machine would be nice.

"The good daughter," and therefore invisible.

Quiet personality finds its loud daily.

Teaser Tuesday (Side Read)

I am reading (on the side) I Can't Keep My Own Secrets: Six Word Memoirs and it's actually pretty good! Funny, and I likes me funny. So I am going to post 6 word memoirs Hehe.

6. You still smell like my childhood

5. Aspiration: colonize Mars.
You're not invited.

4. Contemplated joining the circus.
Foolishly chose college.

3.Living my dream; please send money.

2. Eventually, I'll make my own breakfast.

1. I never got my Hogwarts letter.

Enjoy!

Guidance

I finished with Medina Hill. I can't post the review because I'm waiting for a message from the publisher and depending on what she tells me I will or will not post the review tomorrow. In the mean time I got's to think about the future. And that means...

What Shall I Read Now?
I could really use some help guys so, vote. Your options are:

Legacy by Capla Kluver.

Behind Every Illusion by Christina Harner.

Prophecy of the Sisters by (the one and only) Michelle Zink.

(Click on the pics for summary's or more information)

I kind of already started with POP, but had to stop because I was suppose to be reading something else... Anyways now you would make a list from 1-3 telling me in which order to read them -cause I have to read them all anyways so.

In the mean time I will be reading Lenore Noogues by Roman Dirges and I Can't Keep My Own Secrets: Six-Word Memoirs by Teens Famous+Obscure (Since they are both small books they should be over pretty quickly).

So expect reviews these days guys!! I will make you read, Muahahahaha (evil genius laugh).

Fangtastic Contest (Read)

My last contest is over and done, so I guess it's time for the second October Contest!

Have you guys ever heard of Rowan of The Wood? Well for those who don't know about it here's a summary:

A young boy Cullen who meanders through the redwood forest every day on his way to school, losing himself in books and fantasy worlds full of elves, fairies, and wizards. He loves to escape to these magical lands because reality for him is not fun at all. Cullen and his two misfit friends, Maddy and April, are terribly unpopular amongst the other kids, and they regularly endure ridicule and bullying. Cullen's life changes incredibly one day when he uncovers an ancient magic wand that is inhabited by a powerful wizard, Rowan. Inadvertently, Cullen releases Rowan from the wand and finds himself possessed by the wizard, with a great power and an obsessive need to find a lost love. When danger is near, Rowan emerges from the frightened child to set things right. He and Cullen try to understand what has happened to them, only to discover a deeper problem. Nearly fourteen centuries ago, Rowan and his bride Fiana were separated on their wedding day. Rowan manages to survive, trapped in time, until Cullen releases him from the wand. Fiana uses dark magic to stay alive as she continues searching for Rowan. Over the centuries, Fiana descends deeper into the darkness becoming something evil and eventually giving up her search...until a young boy brings Rowan back to her.
